Incidentally, the Epimenides paradox should not be confused with the Nixonides paradox, first uttered by Nixonides the Cretin: "This statement is inoperative."

1) Yes, I think it is really Hanya in Crete.
2) It means to understand a matter, usually in unpleasant situation.
For example, somebody gives another a good thrashing: "Ona Hanya'yi Konya'yi ogretti."
>1.- "Hanya" is the city Chania of my island Crete?
Yes, I suppose so.
>2.- What is its meaning?
Translated literally as "to learn Hanya and Konya", it means
to learn the important differences (e.g., between things
or places that are widely known).
Konya is a city in central Turkey. "Hanya" and "Konya"
rhyme with each other, and they (supposedly) represent
very far apart, unrelated places.
